Best bet is Remington, but New York has shut them down I believe. I don't think it can be threaded.

Ahlmans in Minnesota can do the job.

Thanks for the help guy's.

I found a shop that builds custom guns and they do custom plating. Good part is they are 15 miles from where I live. I tried out a custom tactical (3 gun) pump gun they tricked out and plated with NP3+, slick and fast doesn't even describe how smooth the gun really is....must be felt in your hands :D I'm also going to get some parts from my SX1 done in NP3+

What do you mean by "threaded tube"?

Did the end of your mag tube break off? I have an 11-48 that had that happen and they're silver soldered in, and Remington wouldn't mess with a gun that old.

No it didn't break off, it's getting wore out with a spot wore through the tube. I thought it would be nice with one threaded into the receiver instead of soldered in. Winchester SX1 is a good example of threaded tube.

870 is not made like an SX-1. The tube is soldered into the receiver only part way around and the barrel support is silver soldered on top of the tube. Let us know what your shop says.
