So, I traded for this gun this evening. The gun had an aftermarket stick on fiber optic bead that covered the vent rib. I just thought to myself that someone couldn’t see the original bead well and I’d pull it off when I got home. Well..... I learned my lesson, a whole section of the vent rib is missing.....

The gentleman said he bought it and just doesn’t use it, in fact he said he never shot it.... so, maybe he didn’t know. But my question is..... my option is basically buy a new barrel correct? Can this be repaired? I’m not very optimistic that It can be fixed. But just makes me sick that I didn’t check that. Overall the wood is 95% (unless it’s been refinished and I just don’t know what I’m looking at) and the bluing on the gun is probably 85% and overall great shape except for the barrel. It’s a fixed modified barrel.

I’ll have to post a picture of the broken spot tomorrow. Here are a few of the gun. Any help would be appreciated. I traded a new style A5 and he gave me $200 cash, but I’m feeling a little ripped off now... but, that’s just how it goes. I guess.

I think it’s probably an easy fix for Art’s. Give them a call:

A good gunsmith will fix you up , no problem with a repair !
I would be asking for other ideas with those who would want to replace the whole rib ! IMO

Let the experts answer that for you. Either way you will be happy with your new gun. Don't let this oversight ruin that experience. Good luck!

Well, I fixed it.... just so happened to find a inventor plus barrel from a guy that was about 40 minutes from my house online. Yeah, I paid dearly for it, but i couldnt look at it broken. Arts shop suggested just getting a new barrel instead of repair. And that’s what I was leaning towards anyway. I like the idea of the invector plus system.

What's the plan for the old barrel?
