Hey All,

I am hoping that someone here can give me a little help on a gun I recently purchased.
It is a Browning Citori Grade III Superlight. I am very happy with it and she's beautiful.

However, there seems to be a bit of tarnish on the silver finish plated to the barrel parts of the action. I have attached photos for you all to see. Does anyone know if this is a common issue on these guns?
Will it be a problem in the future?
Maybe it's just that the gun is 30 years old?

I cleaned and oiled the gun well and made sure it was dry everywhere.

Thanks for the help!

It may be due to the acidity of the sweat from SOME people's hands.

I must not know what I supposed to be looking for but I don't see anything in the photos that is of concern. Nevertheless, I have an XS Pro-Comp that developed a dark spot on it and I used Nevr Dull to remove it. Nevr Dull is not instantaneous; you have to work at it. But, it will remove the "tarnish" or whatever it is.

I also don't see anything worth worrying about (but then, it's not "our gun" and we don't have it in hand).

However, a couple of concerns I'd raise are these...............

Any attempts to clean up or brighten those few spots could result in:

** "Bright spots" that are then brighter than the rest of the gun, or

** "Less definition" (fewer shadows) in the nice engraving.

I'd probably not do anything aggressive, and suggest you proceed cautiously.
