Winchester Model 12 firing pin length

Posted this over in the Winchester area, but double-tapping.

Had a firing pin decide to separate into three pieces. "No problem", sez I and ordered a replacement from [my bad - not Numrich] Fleabay.

So why is this one 1/4" too short (and unusable)?

Yeah, figured that out when I went back to look at the envelope.

For future reference, the 12 gauge is 2 7/8" long and the others are 2 5/8"

Also, this was NOT a NUMRICH purchase.
