If you google "british gunsmith tools", you'll find a bunch of vendors - but they all seem to be in the UK

The best gunsmiths I know acquired them from other, older gunsmiths that were retiring!
I am not kidding. I've seen draw knives, spoke shaves and assortments of chisels on some work benches that were easily 100 years old !

When I joined Westley Richards in the 60s I inherited a bench full of really old tools, I asked where I might get new ones and was told to make them yourself. Files were about the only tools that got replaced.

Jack Rowe basically made all of his tools. He remarked “they were the best”
