Shot my 725 today and after about three boxes it would not close? Took it down and checked it out ,could not see a problem. Put it back together and it worked? What could have been the problem?

If the trigger has been pulled with the gun broken, you need to move the lever as far right as possible and hold it there as you insert the barrels into the receiver and close the gun. It's a Browning thing.

It's a Browning thing. Do you mean if triggers were pulled when gun is open while reloading? May possibly happened not sure

Reloads or factory new? Sometimes reloads will let a loose pellet get under the ejector and not let it lock closed,, very hard to see, almost have to run a thin pick under it to dislodge. If that squashed pellet fell out all good.

Any crude under the ejectors will stop a Browning 725 from closing.

It's a Browning thing. Not only this ^^ but the cocking lever must be in the "UP" position when putting the barrel back on. If that lever is not up, you will not be able to get the barrels on the 725 and get it to close and it could ruin your day.. Ask me how I know... If you fire the gun when the barrel is off, that cocking lever will be down. To get it up, use a wooden dowel or stick of some sort to pry it up while holding the lever to the right. Then it will be back to normal.
