I would like to clean the ejectors on my Impact. I have about 10K rounds through it now and I have never removed and cleaned them. Are they easily removed? If so, how?

Get a magnetic screwdriver or very small pickup tool. Take the barrels off the action. Notice the round button on each side of the barrel block. Completely depress one ejector and remove that button with your magnet. Take the pressure off the ejector slowly to avoid flying parts. Clean and regrease the ejector, ejector spring, ejector spring bore and ejector groove. Also clean and lube the ejector sear at the bottom of the Ejector bore in the barrel block. Reassemble ejector and spring in the groove. Compress ejector spring by pushing the ejector down and replacing the button. Hold button in place while releasing the compression of the ejector and spring.

Finally got around to maintaining the ejectors. Great design made it easy to do. After 14,000 rounds they were dirty but not too bad.
The CG website has some great videos and a specific one for this specific topic.

Does anyone know the thread size for the threaded area inside the ejector button? CG mentioned that you can use that to fab up a removal and install tool for even easier extraction and insertion of that button.

The gunsmith at the UK importers showed me how he hooks those little fellas out using the torx key for adjusting the triggers. Easy peasy!

I stock a broad selection of metric and SAE screws, bolts and nuts. However, the smallest I stock is M4x.7. I'm guessing it's maybe M2 or M2.5. Like I said, it's threaded. I'm naturally curious. They felt a reason to thread it - not sure why.
