I just got my Summit Trap Combo. Shot 100 last eve at the Trap range. All went well , I have not patterned it yet as I just got it cleaned a lubed it out of the case, and then took it to shoot 100 birds. I had been shooting a Browning 725 HR Adj comb, previously . All felt good, But I did notice a bit of a twang after I shot, I did ck all Screws were tight and double checked the rib when I got home. Would this be considered normal as that rib is only anchored front and rear because of adjustable. I ask others in my squad if they could hear this noise? all said no. But I defiantly heard it after every shot. This was all on the O/U barrel , I have not shot unsingle barrel yet. Hopefully I will have some time later today to pattern and adjust both barrels for POI that I desire. . Serial numbers on receiver and O/U match but unsingle is different? is this normal?

Are you wearing electronic headset? I get the same noise on my BT99 when using my Walker's, I think they just pickup the twang sound for some reason. Try using regular headset or ear plugs see if that makes a difference.

I use ear plugs, not electronic muffs. Its not a big thing if its normal condition I understand, Just do not want it to trn into something bigger.

It's probably normal as I've heard other people mention the twang. My Zoli does it too.

The Ping is not uncommon on the Summit rib.

I had a Summit Trap for a couple of years until I found a LH Maxum Impact.
The Summit Trap made the noise on maybe 20% of shots, the Maxum Impact does not do it.
I was sure it had something to do with the Trap rib.

Does the Summit Trap Combo come with the DTS Kinetic Balancer installed? If so, would that introduce the twang?

No kinetic balancer installed, I did put 7oz of lead shot in stock hole behind the butt pad and shot U/Single barrel for the first time and no twang, I need to try it with the O/U barrel to see if it really helped?

My Summit Trap did not have the balancer and made the sound. My Maxum Impact has the Kinetic Balancer and does not make the sound.
