JC Higgins Model 100 20 GA question.

I own a JC Higgins Model 100 in 20 Gauge. Very good condition and I really do like it a lot.
I want to find out the year of manufacture. If any of you can help me, it will be appreciated.
The serial number is 7867x. Thank you.

JC Higgins Model 100 20 gauge side by side, made by AyA will have Spanish proof marks with a date code.
Look up a table of Spanish date codes via Google.

They're nice guns. I don't like the single trigger, but otherwise, the JCH 100 is a real sleeper.

Probably made in the '50s to early '60s.

Thank you for your replies. I found the date code . It is A1.
The chart shows A1 as 1955

Congratulations on your 20 gauge, I managed to find a both the 12 and 16 gauge JCH 100's (both were mfg in '55). As we speak I have the 12 apart and my project is to refinish and bring back the stock and forearm. I’m a tad nervous, however; YouTube and Larry Potter video’s should guide the way forward. I have started to look around for the 20 gauge to make a complete set. I hope you enjoy yours, and again congratulations and stay healthy.
