Looking for expert opinion on this gun https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns- ... =101345227.

The quality of fit/finish, engraving, shaping of stock around the lock plates and the drop points look good to my eye. It has an articulated front trigger and gas escapes on the fenced. High grade features. Yet it has plain wood and the grotesque hunting scene in on the butt stock.

Am I missing something? Is the workmanship not as good as I think it is?

The cross pin screw also looks to be at an odd angle (7 vs. 9 o'clock). Not sure if this is normal for the brand or indicates excessive opening/improper closing of the locks.

I saw this gun when I was last at Steve’s. Other than the stock carving, the gun looks better up close than in the pictures.

Bub3357, as I remember, it was a little deeper than the checkering on the grip, but not much. I remember the gun as it and I am the same age !

Unless the cross pin screw (AKA: thumbscrew) will not remain stationary during handling or shooting, it would not dissuade me from buying a gun. It appears that the subject gun's thumbscrew is where it was left by the last person to handle it.

IMO, its not unusual for the cross pin screw to be at an angle somewhat less than the 9 o'clock position nor does it necessarily indicate excessive opening/improper closing of the locks. My 1976 vintage purpose built, Victor Sarasqueta SxS Trap gun has seen many, many thousands of trap rounds down it's barrels during the past 44 years. Despite frequent removal and cleaning of the gun's locks, it's thumbscrew still remains at whatever position I leave it, be it 7, 8 or 9 o'clock.
