Just noticed primers not seating deep enough in RCBS Grand . Only STS hulls Nitros and GCs no problem . Any help wiuld be appreciate

Then there is this.

3. Priming Station Adjustment The Primer Stem Assembly
is under spring tension to compensate for varying internal
base wad heights between hull manufacturers. Should it
become necessary to adjust primer depth, the Primer
Seater Body Assembly can be moved up or down. To make
this adjustment, loosen the top 3/4" lock nut and screw rod
up or down in 1/4 turn increments until desired primer
seating depth is achieved (photo 36).

All was found using Google in less than 5 minutes including posting the message.

All you have to do is call RCBS and they will gladly walk you through a resolution of your problem, seriously. When loading Remington hulls with Win 209 primers mine stand just a bit proud by no more than 0.002”. It isn’t a problem.

Any gap between the flange of the primer and the base of the hull, leaves potential for the primer to move when struck, with the force required to induce that movement being subtracted from the force delivered to the struck surface of the primer.
Never a good thing and it should not be acceptable to leave any gap to allow this to happen.

RCBS has a tech bulletin on the adjustment of the primer setting station on the grand. The adjustment depends on the type of shell that you are reloading. It is follows: On the top part of the press at the primer seating station, remove the hex nut. You will now have a threaded bolt sticking up through the frame. The measurement from the top of the bolt to the base of the frame for Remington hulls is 0.820". For Winchester hulls it is 0.845" and for Federal hulls, it is 0.945". This must be set for the type of hull to be reloaded. Once set, reinstall the hex nut finger tight. Recheck the setting to make sure that it is still correct. Next, below the frame on the same threaded bolt, loosen the jam nut above the primer sleeve by several turns and then raise the primer sleeve by turning counter clockwise several turns. Do not turn the threaded bolt turn at the same time. Leave both the primer sleeve and the jam nut loose. Make sure there are no primers in Station 2 and insert a hull. Lower the operating handle and guide the primer seating ram (primer sleeve) into the hull. Leave the handle all the way down. Screw the primer sleeve (primer ram) all the down clockwise until it stops when it bottoms out on the base wad of the hull. Make sure that only the primer sleeve is turning down during this process and not the threaded bolt. When the primer sleeve is firmly seated on the top of the base wad inside the hull, put a mark on the outside of the primer sleeve that you can easily see. Raise the primer sleeve off of the base wad by lifting the operating handle and using the mark that you put on the outside of the primer sleeve, back the primer sleeve out one full turn counter clockwise using the mark as a reference. Hold the primer sleeve with a pair of pliers and tighten the jam nut firmly. Make sure the top nut above the frame is also firmly tightened. Do not use excessive force or the primer bushing will separate/crack.
