I bought some Winchester 12 ga. AA shells. I notice that the primers are a different color than the Winchester primers I buy for reloading. Is there a difference? The factory shells are a copper color center and the ones I reload with have a brass colored center.

They are the same except for the color. That is one way to tell if the empty hulls are once-fired.

A couple years ago our club received an order of new factory AA shells which had the same primers as sold for reloading. Checked with Winchester and they occasionally have to substitute due to supply/availability. They are not going to stop factory runs just to wait on the "color of a primer". As noted above they are the same other than color.
