I am currently staying at the Tucson Trap and Skeet complex. The Spring Grand is going on with thousands of hulls laying everywhere . I have not seen a single Remington Clay and Field hull anywhere (well I did see one). They are one of my favorites for reloading. Where are they?

Remington still makes them. Maybe no one in the vicinity sells them. What does the complex sell? What are you seeing the most of on the ground? Where do most of the people there get their ammo?

I like 'em too. But rarely find them around the club.

I can get golds for almost the same price at WM so never buy the others.

I am seeing almost every hull under the sun. I been collecting the premium stuff , STS, Nitros, and Federal Gold Medal. There are a lot of Winchester AA. The club actually encourages you to pick them up as it helps the staff a little. The clubs sells about everything including Fiocchi which is popular with the international trap group. The University of Arizona team shoots here.

I was wondering the same. About a year ago, I ran across them on sale for $4.98/box. I bought 6 cases. i only have about a half dozen boxes left of 7.5s. I do not see them anymore either.

I like them; but not at the price Cabelas sells them. I just go with Rem Gun Clubs now.

My guess is that Remington is 'testing the waters'; testing whether shooters will pay a premium (or near premium) price for a premium (or near premium) shell with a steel base/rim.

I suspect that we will not long see a shotgun target load product line that contains Gun Clubs, and Clay & Field, and STS. When Remington takes its toe out of the water, one of those will go.

The Clay and Field has better shot than the Gun Club but not as good as the STS/Nitro.

And, the market has changed a bit since Rem came out with the Clay and Field. Win recently came out with a new AA that has ultra-hard, plated shot but with a nickel-plated steel base. So, maybe the days of the all-brass base are numbered.

Winchester claims it is a nickel-plated brass base. But once consumers are used to looking at that nickel-plated base, all that it would take was a bit of three-card Monte on the production line, and Viola it's now nickle-plated steel. Don't expect a marketing announcement when that happens.

this is what happened to them. {hs#

gun clubs for 5$
clay and field for 7.50$
or nitro/sts for 7.99$

if they were 6$ like Rio's and Estates, you'd see more of them.

This is correct, I misspoke.

But, Win may have started and "arms race" on shot quality. It gives people something they can pay extra for.

The gold Nitros are by far the most popular premium shell here. I am not even sure what is in second place. The ground is covered with them.

FWIW, in my opinion, the coolest looking hulls are the STS "greenheads."

I get promo hulls.
a good day is finding some white box estate's, or maybe a handful of AA hs hulls.

Me too. When I get back home I will probably sell some of the hulls as I have done in past years. The deep green STS are the most popular.
