I saw Spartan Shot mentioned in a few posts being a high antimony shot for $33 at CAC. Anyone have any experience with this shot for the good or bad?

It loads file. Shoots fine. West Coast is selling for 2 dollars more. I did a hardness with a 32oz hammer and they both flatten like tiny pancakes.

Craftsman. I don't have any Rockwell tools.

Rockwell is a measure of hardness:

I like to keep these things light hearted.

I've recently loaded and shot Spartan, Rio and West Coast shot. I can't tell the difference between the various bullets I've shot at SC, 16yd trap and skeet. Can't blame the misses on the shot or pattern size. Most where clearly behind except for those that where in front.

Interesting rockwell tester.

A Rockwell hardness tester looks kind of like a cordless drill. You place a piece piece of shot in the jaws, set the torque to the lowest setting then pull the trigger. Slowly increase the torque setting until the shot is crushed. The torque number that crushes the shot is the hardness index.

I dunno the one DEG posted clearly has a picture of a hammer right on the side of it next to the word Rockwell.
