Picked up about 5 lbs. of Vectan A1 from an estate sale yesterday along with some other reloading stuff.
Looks like this is primarily a 1 1/8 oz. load powder. In fact, I don't see any 1 oz. load data for it.
Is anyone using this in Remington hulls? Likes, dislikes, load suggestions?
Thanks
Vectan A1 is almost identical to Green dot in both performance, and in density, all the way down to the bushing size.
If you study the charts closely, it suggests that it is pretty much a drop-in replacement for Green dot in 12-gauge 1-1/8th ounce.
It also has applications in 3/4 ounce 20-gauge as well.
While it may not have published 1-ounce loads, much like 'Green dot', I'm sure you can use it for 1-ounce.
May not be the most efficient (like Green dot) in 1-ounce loads, if that's all you had, you could make it work.
What loads are you wanting to make, and what components do you have ?
If making 1-ounce 12-ounce loads in American taper hulls with medium strength primers, I'd start with 19-20 grains.
