I have a whole bunch of Fiocchi purple 12 hulls with the high base wad. I'd like to use the GU 1225 wad with 7/8 oz. and Clays powder. If this combination will fit. Can I use the Hogdon data for the low base wad. Any thoughts?
It's my first time reloading Euro's. I've always used AA or Rem in the past with a Mec 9000H, Clays and Claybuster wads. My first time posting here, I've read the forums from time to time though.
Thanks

Clays is a fluffier powder. I think you're going to run out of space if the GU1225 crush section doesn't have enough give to compensate. I'd bet a shorter GU1222 would be a better fit.

Thanks, I'll get some and see how they may work. I pulled apart one of these factory loaded hulls. It has a Fiocchi wad I didn't recognize but the base has a very deep powder area and the flake powder took up some fair amount of volume.

I have loaded thousands of those French Cheddite hulls with 7/8 oz and the EML wad, I think that is 27mm. That cushion ring gives just enough for perfect crimps. I wouldn't think you would have any issues with a 1225.
