I have a LOT of Activ 12 ga hulls that I load for handicap trap. Herco is the perfect powder for those. I have plenty of other powders for 20 and 28 although I do load Activ 20 ga with it too. It’s just about perfect for those roomy hulls.

Bobski, no crimp adjustment to be made if you use the same hulls. All you gotta do is tip back your MEC charge bottles, pull your charge bar and swap bushings.

I'm using a MEC #20 bushing, it drops a hair under 14 grains of Herco.

I drop 17.5 grains in my Activ 20 ga hulls and it’s a great load

Bobski, I like Herco as the #1 heavy 16ga powder. Love it for 1 1/8 oz loads. Not sure if alliant has it on web still, but tons of reciles in older alliant and Hercules books.

I have used Herco in 20ga AACF hulls for 25yrs. I use 16.5gr for both 7/8oz and 1 ounce loads. In the 7/8oz loads I use the Rem RXP wad, in the 1 ounce load I use the Rem SP Wad. I also use it in the Rem STS hull with 17.5gr with the same two wads.

has anyone looked at herco up close? has anyone noticed how it looks JUST LIKE 700x?
my herco was in a mec tube for 25 years marked herco.
I poured some 700x in a tray and some herco in a tray. 700x has yellow i.d. flakes in it, herco doesn't.
can anyone confirm that herco is JUST LIKE 700x? anyone got a loading book with a pic of herco flakes?
I want to make sure thats herco in that mec tube!

If in doubt, throw it out!

I used a goodly quantity of Herco to load 28 gauge. 14 grains as I remember. It performed well and even burned pretty clean in the 28 gauge. Good old powder.

i plan on it after i get some inputs on its appearance based on data book pics or ref saying it does or doesn't look like 700x.
