I have a couple of Pacific 266 and one 155 press which are all in 12ga. I almost have the conversion kit for a 16ga set - just need the resize ring, wad guide and final crimp assembly and am scouring the net to try to find these as Hornady don’t stock them anymore in 16. I would like to convert the spare one to load 12ga 3”..... what mods do I need to do to the final crimp assembly or can I get away with just lifting the crimp up as far as it will go? Cheers Graham

Graham:
I'm thinking the only part you will need to convert your 266 12 ga. to 3" is a 3" crimp die body. It's part number 390213 and it is the same part for the 366, so they should have it in stock (they did when I ordered one within the last year). Good luck with it and please report back on what other adjustments you had to make to get proper 3" loads.
Regards, Nebs

I managed to find a complete 12ga 3” Final crimp assembly on Evilbay. Takes a while to get it from the states but it arrived today. Will fit it later and see if it sorts the issue out Regards Graham

I think you might find the wad insertion part of the program difficult. You will have to raise the wad guide at least 1/4 inch to get the hull to fit under the guide. Depending on what you are loading you might find you have to lower the wad insertion ram. Then, you might have an issue getting the wad in place to insert. Possible solution. Remove the wad guide bracket from the assembly and when you go to do the wad insertion, slip the wad onto the wad ram and then set the guide on top of the hull. But, then again, you might not have any of these problems.

All fine at all stages. I set it up with a Remington 3” nitro steel case. Wad guide is not quite at the top of the adjustment but had to screw the precrimp in as far as it goes. Makes a nice job now - very pleased
