Recently got a MEC Junior in 410. Reloaded 300 rounds so far and mostly going good Occasionally on the up stroke after dropping shot the wad will follow up and shot will spill. Taking the shell out the wad has risen to the top and even further. Anybody seen this before? Cause and solution? Only happens 1 out of 25 or so Thanks

Polish and wax the OD of the tube.

Also feel the bottom of the tube and make sure there is no burs around the opening

the tube bottom will get some ragged and start grabbing the edge of the wad.

First, smooth out the drop tube as suggested. Then after you complete the down-stroke to seat the wad, lift the handle about half way before dropping the shot. This will help with both the wad sticking issue and also with avoiding shot bridging and hanging up in the tube. -Ed

I also just started reloading the 410 and bought a Mec Jr. Had the same problem, but the Jr reminded me real quick why I like progressive presses. So I found a Mec 650 [ they aren't made anymore - it was old stock ] and sold the Jr. I don't seem to have the same problem and haven't ever figured out why.
