I have a few thousand Wolf 209 primers that I would like to use up. Anyone know how they compare pressure wise to W209's

737, if you give us the components you want to use, some of us have older manuals that have Fed. 209 primer loads in them, that seems to be the difference from your previous post.

There is next to no info published for the Wolf primers. The major reason you can't find them here any more.

The load I was thinking I would use them in is:

12ga. Rem Gun Club hull
17 grs of 700X powder
CB175-12 wad
3/4 oz. #9 shot
W209 primer

Hodgdon lists this load at 10,600 psi so that is why I was wanting to know if the Wolf primers were hotter than a W209. I would like to use them up on my skeet loads.

I've used a LOT of them. I like the stepped profile, the red lacquer "seal", never had one pierce. Don't think I've had a bad one. I use them in Win 209 recipes, but I'm not loading target loads to 10+ kpsi.

Some of my hunting loads are warm and I use the components in the recipe.

Can always send some out to the lab.

For light skeet loads they're fine. Don't load up anything that's fast, heavy, or approaching pressure limits. If you do, send them out to test first, and don't rely on anecdotes for safety.
