It is just great that some have not had a problem with the resulting loose primers.. I know from observation and experience that the issue, while not a 100% thing, is real and common. The more and more shells constructed with steel and alloy bases the more of an issue it becomes. Just helped a friend last Sunday pull a trigger group from an SX3 to remove a primer from its hiding place.. Myth?? Not always........ Larry

What brand of primer was it?

What hull?

Had Fiocchi primers been used in that hull previously?

What other brands of primers been used in that hull previously?

Hulls were Federal Top Gun, only loaded with FIO 616. Reloaded 4 times.... Primers were W209's I had given him.... I am just guessing the original primer was a Federal 209.
I just came into 800 FIO I will give him so he can continue to load.......
Examination revealed a few primers had backed out a bit but stayed in the pocket. Last night he went through 2 boxes of the same shells in his BT99 and had no indications of an issue.... probably the difference between a semi-auto and a break open gun... Larry

This thread is relevant to the debunking myth.
