I’m sorry you felt compelled to ask a moderator to lock your thread on the RIO primers. I for one was following along with interest. In this time of primer shortage, a lot of us reloaders are making adjustments to be able to keep loading and shooting. The group I shoot with fall into three categories:
1 They have a large enough stash they are unaffected so far

2 They are making adjustments to continue loading and shooting

3 They are wringing their hands about the situation and currently seldom shooting with us.

I am transitioning from group 1 to group 2 and found your post of interest. Actually I was waiting to see if you bumped the charge a smidge more to see if raising the pressure a little tightened up the velocity a bit more.

Willie T,

What I posted, is as far as I went, mostly because I got the answer as to what was bugging the RIO G-1000 primer.......it was the CB6100-12 wad. A change to the Federal 12S0 or the CB2100-12 wad calmed down the Sd and ES problems.

Please understand that there was no loading data offered in that thread, only load consistency......and only an example. The sample size is too small to make any of it a blanket statement.

I'd rather not comment any further as that thread created too much confusion, which was not my intent.

What I can't get over about that thread: the OBJECTION to having a higher-level discussion. Anybody with a room-temperature IQ should have been able to follow everything in that thread.

Next time, if you "can't be bothered" to read something, kindly STFU and let the rest of us enjoy.

Mark, keep casting your pearls. Not all of us are swine.

I understand your position. I also full well understood your post and what you were doing. Just thought it was a shame how quickly some were to criticize. Hell they even went after your chronograph...

Shoot2reload, Willie T,

I appreciate the kind words.

I thought I made it simple, but there was sure a lot of confusion.

I enjoyed your data also. It says what it says: nothing more. Inferences and conclusions beyond the scope of the work are nothing but speculation.

Yep those of us who play with that load , followed along even though we didn't need to ,
but , with a couple thousand Rio's in hand , it's money in the Bank ! Thanks

With a couple Totes full of PB Fed hulls , it's good to know !

Personally, I thought the primer substitution tests, if they can be called that, demonstrate what effects different primers can have on different loads pretty well. I won't say anything except it is human nature to get frustrated when people fail to grasp what you are trying to say! Being a right brained person (left handed) in a left brained world (right handed) I am exposed to that problem quite often!
