I decided to move from 1 0z to 7/8 oz loads.Using the 1 0z wads I can see that you need a filler wad and my lymans says to use one,but if you use 7/8 wads do you still need to use one?they seem to be crimping ok now,but I don't want to make a mistake in loading.Assuming that i will need them,I ordered a bag of .125 20 ga cork wads.Thats what my loading book says to use.thanks. sj :?

Nope. If you use a wad designed to hold 7/8 ounce of shot, then you don't need to put any filler wad inside the shot cup.

Try using a piece of puffed wheat. Place it in prior to dropping shot. It adds no weight and will raise shot for a better crimp.
