I tried to search this topic, but can't find an answer. Beretta's web site is ambiguous, at least to my reading. So, does the SP-1 .410 have a unique frame size, or does it share frame size with the SP-1 28 gauge? Might as well also ask, does the 28 gauge SP-1 Sporting have the same frame size as the 20 gauge SP-1 Sporting? The latter two do seem to have the same size frame, making me wonder about the 28 and .410. Thanks, Ed

I think its the same as the baby frame 28. There are 3 frames, 28/ .410, 20/28, and 12. I have a baby frame 28 ga. It is a smaller frame than the 20 / 28 combo frame.

If you buy a 28 or a 28 / .410 combo, or a .410 you'll get the baby frame receiver.

If you buy a 20 ga. Or a 20 /28 combo you'll get the midsize frame.

The baby frame is less than 1/10" narrower than the mid frame.

Thanks for the information. I suspected that "some" 28 gauge SP-1s were on the 20 gauge frame, but didn't know that other 28 gauge ones were on the smallest frame. -Ed

Older 686 28s were on the 20 ga frame. Fairly certain the glossy stock 28s were.
