Hello,

Can anybody tell me what flashlight will fit into a 28 gauge muzzle for flashlight drills? I am seriously considering buying one for my daughter, but I need to be able to do flashlight drills with her.

Thank You!

I have done the flashlight drill with a laser bore sight, but I am not finding one for 28 gauge.

I shoot a 20 gauge, and use a mini maglite wrapped in electrical tape until it fits without rattling. I'm hoping one of those would fit with less wrapping, or if necessary with the choke tube removed. I just don't know how much room is in that 28 gauge bore/muzzle.

Mostly I do the drill when I get a new gun, which is rare, and before hunting season as refresher. My daughter will be doing them extensively to practice safety, mounting, and build up her strength before we shoot live rounds.

Look for the laser light pointer or sometimes used for a pet light for cats to chase the dot.
If it has a press on button, use a sleeve of a shotgun shell plastic to hold the button on.
When you get it set up and she is used to watching the dot, tell her to focus on the edge of the dot.
It will help train her to focus hard on the target.
good luck,
