Looking at both. I need a sxs 28ga.

Shoot A BSA Royal in 20ga, An American Arms Derby in 12 and an old Liege guild in 12.

Comments on 28ga double trigger sxs a notch better than the new Bobwhite?

Briefly owned the iside. Finish was definitely above any cz I’ve seen. Didn’t fit me at all so I sent it on for someone else to enjoy. Had it fit I’d be very happy to hunt with it. Mine had an issue with not fully setting the auto safety.

I had a very bad experience with the Dickinson Custom Shop and ended up getting an Iside SxS in 16 gauge. I am very happy with it.

I suggest you search for a 28 ga Derby.

I did own a derby two barrel set (20/28) but the 28ga barrels were heavier than the 20ga barrels so the gun felt nose heavy in 28.

I know of a 28ga derby that is for sale but wondered if it would be the same issue.

If you know otherwise please let me know.

For 28 gauge I bought an SKB 200 two barrel set. 28 gauge frame and both 28 and .410 barrels. I love it.

A 28 ga Derby is a true 28 ga and balances nicely.

I have a Dickinson M 282 in 28 gauge. It's a beautiful looking gun with excellent fit, finish, and beautiful wood.

My only complaints are the triggers were horrible out of the box, and the ejector system makes the gun a bit hard to open.

I did a DIY trigger job... https://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewto ... 7&t=511564

painter,

How did the trigger job turn out? Are you now satisfied with the over all gun?

The triggers are good. I question the hardening of the sears, but time will tell. One thing I found out after I bought the gun is that Dickinson will not provide parts. They want you to ship it to one of their authorized repair centers. That may change in the future, who knows.

I've only used the gun for a couple rounds of 5 stand, so far, and it shot well enough. The trigger guard beats up my middle finger a bit but I wear gloves for shooting, and hunting, and I never take 50 shots on a days hunt so it's not a real issue..

I'll start bringing my SxS guns to the club so I can warm up for upcoming bird season.
