To the contrary, I am awaiting your expertise, I can accept new thoughts, or so my friends tell me, if I had friends. So give us all those advantages you think we should know about.

Now, joseph....you are confusing someone expressing an opinion on a subject which, imo, can involve more than simple weights and measures with....expertise.

Understandable to try and color someone as considering themselves an expert or identifying yourself as a group demanding answers rather than a simple individual but all that indicates is that further explanation would be futile.....lot of that goes on here.

So far there has been no explanation at all. I asked for one, but you
have given me nothing, not the first word of explanation, now you say "any
further explanation would be futile". Well it has been futile so far,
since the entire explanation was zero, non existent, so I am getting
used to it.

you got some good ideas for me getting some friends.


I did not tell you what to do, I just ask some questions, that you never
answered, then you told me any further explanation would be futile. Hey, I
was just trying to make a friend, looking for some really smart guy
to give me his expertise, but you never did come forth with your
wisdom on the advantages of any shotgun gauge, you just gave me
an idea on getting more friends, but I did not find it very helpful,
maybe you could do better there. My biggest problem on friends is
that they have mostly died. That is why I don't have any now. One
of the problems of living a long time is that happens. Maybe you can
tell me how to revive them, and also my two dead wives. You seem
to have a lot of answers but none of them for the question I asked.
You are trying though to be really helpful, so in the spirit of being
helpful I will reciprocate, and give you some advice, when giving
others advice, try to respond to whatever they asked and
dispense with psychoanalysis. If you need any more advice,
I am always here for you, whether it be shotgun gauges or
getting new friends, you can always talk to me.

Well, you touched upon a tender spot.
Losing friends is an issue many of us have faced more than once and, often, recently, joseph.
The nice point with friends, in the finest definition of that word, is that we never define them by their measurable particulars or, hopefully, whether another friend may be "better".

It's clear we all move thru Life with a different view toward friends and scattergun gauges or birddogs and hunting boots, for that matter.
Probably best to accept that reality, give an opinion if the urge calls and resist playing another's game.
