Every once in a while, I will get a click instead of a bang. No primer strike. I am thinking it is not in battery all the way.

Does anyone else have any experience with the old work horses?

Between me and my buddies we own three. Only one time have I seen any of them have the "Benelli Click" It was early on and we all understand the potential issue now. Do you understand how it happens and what do you do to try to prevent it?

Keep that gun tight into your shoulder, never had the click issue. When have you striped and cleaned the bolt last?

^^^ this. And if you are only going to run duck hunting loads put a Wolf +25% replacement spring in. When the bolt return spring on my M1 super 90 crapped out I went stronger. Less likely but possible check the indexing pin in the bolt slot by removing the firing pin. I had my crack and it would not load light shells but still worked fine with 3inch shells. That’s a cheap part and easy to source.

Correct, release the bolt via the button, keep the chamber relatively clean, hit the carrier release to drop a shell from the mag to the carrier. Solved.

They are notorious for that. I replaced springs and that did it. Happened mostly on overhead shots.
