Curious what the least expensive US made shotgun (new) today is, just for a backup... Plan B is always a used US made good deal period...

Maybe the Henry single shot. Expensive for what it is but new shotguns made in the US are few. CSMC, Ithaca, Henry. Others might be assembled here but I think that’s about it.

That title is usually claimed by the Maverick 88, but if I recall correctly those are assembled in the US with some foreign parts.

Otherwise it's probably the Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 Express, whichever has the bigger sale that week.

Remington is no more. I always forget about Mossbergs.

Quite true that Remington is currently, and unfortunately perhaps forever, out of business and not manufacturing guns. You can, however, still find them. Literally millions still in circulation and use.

Just read that the new owners of Remington (the gun side in NY) will be concentrating on the 870 at first. 11 million of them out there already.

I`m curious to know where you read that and when it was written. Not doubting you saw it, I believe I saw earlier on that Roundhill intended to concentrate Remington on sporting arms. Problem is, it`s been weeks since they`ve been heard from.

Don't think that came from the owners. It was wishful thinking by the labor union representing the fired 600 fired Remington employees.

Yep, that`s what the article says, labor union rep mentioned the 870. The silence from Roundhill over the last few weeks has been deafening. Not a good sign, IMO.

It would be nice for Remington to return to making their core products - the 870 is a no-brainer right now since demand for any gun is at an all-time high and they could sell every "tactical looking" model they could crank out.

Henry Repeating Arms could make an end-run and copy the design and sell it. It would not be cheap, but would be good.
