I have not sold on auction sites in a while. I used to do it quite a bit.

Does anyone have any comments on how you rate gunauction.com to gunbroker.com today?

There was a time I liked gunauction.com better. It was initially called auctionarms.com.
It was quite a bit more busy back then. For some reason I never quite figured out, gunbroker became more popular.

I just sold some guns (Remington V3), on shotgunworld.com but thought I might again try the auction sites.

I used to like gunauction.com and used it quite a bit when it was auctionarms.com.
However, now it seems that there isn't much action over there and prices are high.

Auction fees at gunbroker.com have went up quite a bit so if you can sell on this site, you are much better off.

I put up for auction on gunbroker a Weatherby SA-08 Auto, 20 gauge.
Started it $175. Will be interesting to see what it goes for. I put
up some rifles and the rifles are getting lots of action, but not so
much for the shotgun.

I have no experience with anything other than gunbroker. I’ve had no reason to use anything else. Only problem I have is when I’m using the site, I invariably bid on something. Currently I have a listing for a 12ga single shot and am having a discussion with another seller about a semi auto 12ga I don’t need. Like a drunk walking through a liquor store.

Eric,
With Guns Unlimited there nearby, it is probably hard to keep your money in the bank account.

I have helped keep the lights on there.

Auctionarms has had issues with scams. Gunbroker is a little safer.

It seems to me that auctionarms now known as gunauction.com
is also set up by idiots. Their interface it about as easy
as pulling the teeth from a cobra. I really can't believe that
anyone would set up a website like that.

Things seem to be going good on my gunbroker sales so far.
I put up 3 ads, 2 rifle and 1 shotgun. I have 32 watchers on
one rifle, 21 on the other, and the bid numbers at present
are 10 and 13, getting lots of action. Right now the bid
amounts are about what I would be happy with, so I am
pretty happy on the rifles.

The shotgun is not doing so well, 1 bid, 2 watchers, looks
like someone may get that gun really cheap, it is getting no
action, and I priced it pretty low to start, a Weatherby SA-08
20 gauge.

I just sold two Remington V3 guns here on the shotgunworld
classifieds.
Pretty soon I will be able to get all my guns in my safe if this
keeps up.

My guess is the stock condition is driving the interest on the shotgun.......

The only auction site that I have used has been Gun Broker and I have had good experience with them. I have probably gotten bit into bidding to much on some things that I have bought, but have been able to buy a number of items that I could not find anywhere else. Only had a problem once, which the seller is in the process of straightening out as I type.

Bob

Did it sell already? I just looked for it and couldn't find any SA-08s in any gauge. ??

IT is Still there:

Their search function is not too good, but if you use the "Advanced"
and just put in Weatherby SA-08, if finds them right away.

You need to buy another safe instead...… ;)

That could well be. Most shooters have a definite idea of how a gun should look and can't get beyond that.
