I shoot Helice and have noticed my scores seem to be lower on cloudy days. I have a pair of Ranger XL with Rx transitions brown lenses. I think these are fine for sunny days, but I don't think I'm picking up the target quick enough on cloudy days. I'm wondering what color lens you would suggest for cloudy days ? Helice targets are orange with a white center, and background is mostly green, grass and pines. What say Ye ?

Your target and background colors seem like my clay colors and backgrounds - I use Ranger purple; you might want the light purple IF that works for you.

as a general rule, you want a tint that allows as much light into your eyes that you can tolerate. The orange lenses allow for about 70% light transmission. The same for the HD lights. Depending on which Brown lens you are using, you are either allowing in either 45% or 28% available light. In other words, these lenses are blocking between 55% to 72% of the light coming into your eyes. For a dark, cloudy, overcast day, you want a lens that allows in more light than that for the same reason you do not wear sunglasses when driving your car at night. https://www.reranger.com/pages/claysight-lenses

Even though you have an RX ask to try some different lenses of your shooting friends, granted the target will look fuzzy but you would still be able get some idea what color/s will help you. We all pretty much "see" process colors differently. Good luck in your search

I wear Ranger XLW with the Rx insert, and like the HD Light for cloudy days. I still have some trouble picking up a bird in a flat grey sky background, at times.
