My experience is that Briley makes/sells the nicest soft case . Heavily padded w/out being heavy. Bring an extra one to carry the gun home if the 1st one gets wet during the shoot.

Gentlemen,

I have a soft case for every gun I own, many different types including custom made. Recently purchased a Thomas Ferney soft case for one of my L.C. Smith #5 guns. Real nice soft case for field use, I have the Boyt soft cases that hold my 2 barrel set guns also. There are many high quality soft case for your guns, choose wisely.

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave

I have 2 of the SKB Hybrid cases and they worked quite well until I decided to Tube my 12 gage 866. Carrying the tubes in a separate case got to be fairly inconvenient. So I purchased the SKB Skeet case and liked it enough that I ordered another for my 20 gage 686. That compartment in the lid is quite handy for storing my Choke collection for the 20 gage and because I only purchased 410 and 28 gage tubes the extra slots have worked well for storing the Tubes, Tools, and 12 gauge chokes.

What is nice about the hybrid cases is they are well made and will provide protection against drops and sliding around the bed of a pickup truck. They are also pretty light at only 7 lbs. and the exterior side pockets provided enough space to house full sets of standard and extended chokes with room to spare in just one of the pockets. As for the other pocket, you could pack a sandwich and bag of chips along with a small tablet computer.

As stated above, the Midway waxed cases are great!

Agree. Briley slips are the best by a long ways.

I am a big fan of the Briley gun slips, as well.

I have this one and use it for my 525. I like it - sort of a hybrid deal but really more rigid than a typical soft case. Does a great job of protecting the shotgun, though, if you are OK with a breakdown case.
I have the same one. Love it.

I was also looking for a soft case cause I do not like breaking down my O/U s to put in case, then assemble to shoot, then break down to travel home, then assemble to store in gun safe. So after a few one piece cases I think I have found the solution , Well protected and 1 piece and convenient , I bring it to the back of what ever post I shoot while trap shooting, and works great while sporting clays not worry about getting scratched or nicks. Well balanced and easy entry and exit.

Has become my go to case, I have used it on sporting clays course, trap range, even throw my hunting gun in it home to hunt property, just that convenient, 2 pockets for silicone cloth, chokes, 2 boxes of shells, ear plugs, pen and reading glasses.
