I have been searching for a case to keep my sub-gauge barrel in. I would like a simple case, like a padded, canvas, zippered case, just the size to carry a 32” barrel in. Seems like all I can find are scabbards or cases. Negrini makes a hard case for a single barrel, but it runs $189...a bit overkill for what I want.

If anybody knows of something, I would appreciate it.

thanks,

Jeff

I think Boyt makes a case that will fit the action and 2 sets of bbls. I have a couple of them.

I used to use pool stick cases which worked great. Vinyl outside and padded inside. Still have a couple laying around.

Sera,

Thanks for your response. I have seen those, but to minimize size, I am looking for something for just the barrel.

Pool cue case is probably your best bet.

KGwolo,

Ah! Excellent idea. I’ll look into those.

I have 2 that will fit 32" barrels with extended chokes. Also a side pocket to store additional chokes. Perfect condition and priced at $75.00 for both plus shipping from 48381.

I found a case designated for SKB shotguns at Midway or maybe Brownell's. It is found under breakdown shotgun cases. I had to cut a little foam, glue in a little patch but it works very nice. I still use it when I need for the barrel stop go into the drawers in the bed of my PU truck. I also have a foam lined hard case from one of those two outfits that is more weather-proof but I wouldn't consider it for airline travel.

Neither were terribly expensive. I carry my 32" Blaser sub-gauge barrels with Muller chokes in them with room for more.

If you need more detailed info I can always try to look up the details.

I’m sorry....what is 48381? Can you tell me the brand/model, Most I am finding are not long enough for 32” tubes with chokes.

Thanks,

Steve,

I have an SKB case for the whole shotgun now. I’m looking for something just big enough for 1 barrel. Is what you have like that?

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

I modified it up for 3 barrel sets. When I used a Browning combo 28/.410 I used and still have a Boyt canvass gun case with a pouch on the side. I currently plan to shoot Del Monte Gun club 24-25 April. Let me know in advance (I head there early) if you plan to attend and I'll bring the 3 things I use for show in tell. Let me know where in Colorado you are. We might could figure something out.

Steve,

I am in the Springs, and have not made it down to Del Monte. Between Pueblo, the Springs, and Denver, my calendar is pretty full this spring. I appreciate your offer to get together, though. Do you ever get up this way? Republic in Pueblo?

If you could post or email a picture of what you have, I would appreciate it.

Jeff
