since you live in star.

take the 44 west to north middleton rd. and take it north about 6 miles or so till it ends. its a area thats very popular for dove hunting. drive around the canal and you will see areas that people shoot guns at stuff.

I always shoot at the Boise Gun Club.

Very cool bunch of guys out there. The 5 stand they have is alot of fun. $7.50 for 5-stand, $7.00 for skeet (same for trap I think, I don't shoot trap so I don't know).

Membership rates are $50. You save $.50 per round when you get a membership.

They are open Wednesday afternoon, Saturday 12:00-3:00, Sunday 12:00-5:00.

If you are talking about just plinking do like I did, buy something from a local gunsmith and ask him. Also gun shops, gun ranges, gun clubs and barber shops with hunting trophies. I mean the other patrons as well as the people that work there. Around Lewiston you can usually shoot at a county gravel pit in a remote area if it isn't posted and you don't litter. Make friends with a farmer. Ask a game warden or someone in the Idaho Fish & Game Dept office, no fooling they aren't adversarial like in other states.
