I would call myself "renewed" into bird hunting, after 35 years off.
Grandpa always knew where to find birds in SW Michgan and Northern Indiana.

I'm told it's a poor chance I'll find any wild birds in West Michigan now.
Is anyone here Central Mich area and can tell me if any ringnecks exist in your next of the woods

thanks in advance
- jeff

Can't help you with wild birds. Maybe with hunt club, depending on where you live.

You might want to google a bit. There is quite a bit of info available and it's helpful geographically. I'm old, but have a great young dog and it works for me.

Jeff,

I started hunting grouse ...years ago because of "lack of pheasants". There are a few pheasant ranches that offer good birds and a great 1/2 day hunt.

I'm over by the Saginaw Bay area.

PM me if you need more information.

Yes, "wild" birds are what I'm thinking.
I went to the UP in Oct after grouse and know they were there but never got a clean shot (we only had 4 hrs to play with though). I have a friend north of Flint who might work on, and maybe test the Saginaw area.

The mgr at the gun club near me said he was doubtful of anything west of Lansing for finding wild birds (esp. w/ my lack of a trained dog).
Thanks for the help

Wild birds get pushed off sparse public land quickly. It is hard to gain access to private land.
