I just got a 1954 merkel 16 gauge 201 from Germany and I need a gunsmith that can make me a butt pad that does not require the stock to be cut. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I need to get about 1 1/4 inches for the gun to fit right.

The factory stock has a curve at the back of the stock and I don’t want to mess with that if possible.

Thanks

Have you considered shims under the existing butt plate? Maybe the shim(s) could be used to straighten out the curve. I would look for somebody local to avoid the need to ship it somewhere. Any gunsmith that does stock work should be able to do the job.

Try New England Custom Gun or
