I got mine last year from Academy Sports @ $6.99.

That being said, I just tried to order 5 flats of Rios from them, two days after I placed the order they sent me an email saying they cancelled it due to not being able to fill.

~$70/flat is ideal, puts you down into the range of "cheap" shells after the rebate.

I go to a local distributor but Academy is the general consensus around here. Not everyone has a wholesalers nearby - I'd use Academy in a heartbeat if necessary. Need to stock up this year - getting low on hulls.

Not: Anyone who HAS hulls or will have hulls, let me know! :)

Thanks!

I am liking Gander at the moment. In my other post- they were running 20 off of 100. So combined that with the price of 76.90 per flat plus free shipping and it’s a really decent deal. I think I bought all of their 28 gauge- but they had 12 and 20 left :-p

They also have gun clubs for 4.99 a box. With my 20 dollar merchandise credit (x4) I may cash them in for 2 cases of 20 gauge clubs if they don’t have the 28 gauge AA back in stock.

I bought mine at gander outdoors. I am a club member so when I add in the $20 gift card they mailed me for spending $100 plus I bought the 20 gauge for $7.45 per box with free shipping and the $2 per box rebate it gets my total down to around $4.50 per box. $111 total after tax for 14 boxes - $20 gift card = $91 for 14 boxes or $6.50 per box then $2 per box rebate gets me to $4.50 per box.

Academy normally will run an online special of 20% that doesn't exclude ammo and free shipping on orders over $25. Last fall I used that $20% off and the $2 per box rebate to buy several flats of 410's for around $6 per box. Not sure they will do it again but it was in late July August time frame last year. Keep yours eyes open unless you need he ammo right away.

That's a great buy, but isn’t the general case. Also I am not finding any basic 12 ga target loads anywhere for a reasonable starting price. The 1oz, 2 3/4 inch, 1180 fps stuff is just not to be bad in either 7.5 or 8 shot for less than $85-90 per case. Not that I can find, anyway.

I just bought a case of Estate 1oz, 12 ga, 2 3/4”, 1,235 fps for $54.90 from Academy. With free shipping and tax my total was $59 and change or I could pick it up at the store for the same price. No rebate to fool with. I will take that any day. [Edit: ...any day the AA isn't available for a similar price.]

Regarding the $20 coupons, that has nothing to do with the ammo price. If I had some reward coupon, it would make it better, sure, but you can't attribute that savings to the ammo deal. You could just as well say your mother gave you a check for your birthday and lookie, lookie you found ammo for free. It doesn’t work that way.

To be fair, comparing Estates to AA Super Targets isn't exactly a fair comparison. In my experience the AA's are cleaner and crush targets far better.

Just saying, I shoot both but I acknowledge there is a difference in quality.

Just ordered 5 flats from Gander Mountain. No sales tax and no shipping for me (Maryland). After the rebate it brings them down to $5.69 per box, same price I pay (most times) for Rios anyway.

I think that's great, but 5 flats of what? I can't find any normal 12 ga sporting clays AA stuff anywhere that doesn't want $8.50-9.00 a box for it, and that includes Gander Mountain. By normal sporting clays stuff I mean 2 3/4", 1 oz, very low to low velocity. There seems to be a bunch of .410, 28 ga, 20 ga, and heavier, faster 12 ga. For some reason what I think are the most popular offerings just aren't available.

Leads to such stuff would be highly appreciated.

No argument, but that is the situation. Read my post above.

I only shoot 1oz 1280-1350's (or) 1250 1 1/8ths.

That is a sporting load (to me).
