It was amazing to watch! Sweep of the podium on the women's Jr and Gold for men. We also had a gold from the women's bunker as well.

Austen is a treasure. She's a really cool young lady with an amazing story, if you ever get to hear it. Passionate about her sport only begins to define her. Austen, Katie, and Sam were a great team to have and I'm proud they represent us.

It is especially amazing what the US Shooting Team accomplishes given that they receive ZERO or very close to zero government funds or support, competing against teams of professional government sponsored shooters.

USA Shooting receives exactly ZERO from the Federal Governement. ZERO. Even USOC only contributes about 15% of the budget to USA Shooting athletes. In many, many other countries it's a 100% government funded (lots of money) operation. In the UK, the lottery pays for Olympic Sports and team members get major funding.

Like any elite sport athlete, it takes a lot of funding beyond committment, sweat and tears, to develop an athlete. People here do it purely out of love for the sport, and families make huge sacrifices on behalf of the dreams of the athletes.
