Curious how the TT 15 guns are holding up? Got another friend interested in starting to shoot with my son and i, and have been looking for something. Not hearing much , but seem to sell out quickly on websites. Must be doing ok im guessing? Thanks, Steve

So far, so good. Once you have it adjusted to fit you, you should do well with it. I am scoring better with it. The real test is durability and reliability before any work needs to be done. I had a trap shoot last weekend in pouring rain...didn't do all that well...foggy glasses didn't help.

I'm glad there's a thread about TT15.
As an exclusive Perazzi shooter for 30 years since Deniele Perazzi was a personal friend, and with over a dozen engraved models of their guns in my safes, I seriously consider TT15 is an impressive true value of trap gun.

I spoke to Tristar extensively at the SHOT show every year about what's new on their TT15. Tristar is the only booth at the SHOT show I spent almost equal amount of time as Perazzi.
And I completely focused on their TT15 models at the end corner of Tristar booth.

I posted a report of this great value trap gun in "My pictures from SHOT show 2018" on TS because their super easy picture uploading feature for 200 pictures in one thread.

Any Updates on the top barrel issue of the TT-15 "SPORTING" 35425?

I have been shooting a Beretta A300 Outlander for years for Sporting Clays and love it but want to get into my first O/U Shotgun and this Sporting model looks Awesome for the price!!!

But I have read issue with the top barrel from this model? Is this still an issue on newer Sporting models being release today?

They are hard to find but they do pop up in stock tome to time bit I want to make sure I'm making a sound purchase here and won't have issues like I've ready before on the newer ones being released hopefully.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

I just bought one for the heck of it. Was / am looking for a deal on used 725 sporting for me to shoot and it alsobe a spare for my son “ just in case “ it caught my eye. Took to board and both barrels hit pretty much exactly same poi at 30 yds. Could see no difference and had several guys watching. Only 450 rds through it though. But not one issue yet.Son shoots 725 sporting and also have CX 30”. The TT 15 sporting recoil is less than CX. And these are 1 1/8 oz Top Gun. 3-4 other guys lined up to shoot it and not a bad comment from anyone. They shoot Beretta Silver Pigeon, Bt 99, and couple shooting TM1 ‘s.
Had read where some guys where shooting these as a “ bad weather” gun, so was my excuse. Granted the 725 and CX aren’t high dollar to some people, but hurts me to shoot em in real bad weather. I have “ ZERO “ regrets so far. Paid $668. And have heard of zero issues with warranty work. I live in Missouri so I’m pretty close to them. Will report any issues. May let some 4h kids shoot the heck out of it to put to the test.

Let us know how the 4H durability test turn out! So far, no issues either with mine. My scores are picking up. I do like the weight of this trap gun.

Oh, and beads pretty much line up like I’m shooting a Browning . P guns are similar also. Not a Beretta. I see alot of rib with Beretta non adj stock. In case you can get both guns in your hands. Beads stack up in “ figure 8” for me.
These “ do not” feel like a piece of crap in your hands. Im gonna catch crap but it feels like a solid quality gun. In case you’ve held a lower price o/u.

Hello All,

Thanks for all the information on the TT-15s. I really wanted the TT-15 CTA Combo but it was not in stock at the time and I ended up ordering the Sporting O/U SKU# 33410. A week after getting the Sporting O/U I get a call stating the the TT-15 CTA was in stock SKU# 35418. It suppose to show up this week and hopefully I will have it for Memorial Day.

I hope this is the newer 2019 version that I've been reading out. I can post some details when I get it. Does anyone know what's the difference between the CTA and CTA Deluxe? They both look the same to me.

I also have a Peak Case Double Barrel Over Under case on order and from all the Amazon reviews, this case works great.

Per Tristar's website, the CTA is a combo and the CTA Deluxe has a adjustable trigger. > https://www.tristararms.com/trap-models/

I have the TT-15 CTA #35418. It's been an excellent shooter and is my go to clays gun. Even over my super fancy Beretta a400 xcel multitarget.

I just got the TT-15 Deluxe model, 35420.

Nice fit and finish. Was able to pattern it from 45/55 up to the 60/40 that I have it set at now. You could easily go 100/0, or higher I would bet, with all of the adjustment in the barrels and stock. The wood is nicer than the pictures show.

The butt plate is 5 way adjustable. In-out, up-down, rotate, left-right and pivots for pitch. The pad is pretty soft, not as nice as a Kick eze, but the recoil was not bad at all.

I patterned all chokes and barrels at 30 yards. All 3 barrels shoot pretty close to the same POI. Which I am happy with. Any difference was me as I shot off hand.

Both barrels have a mid bead. That will take some getting use to as my previous gun did not have one.

All 5 choke tubes shoot good patterns. The naming if off. The MOD for instance is .030 constriction. That makes it a LF in most worlds. The IM is .035 and the Full is .040.

Trigger seems crisp. The drop-out trigger assembly works well. Easy to get out, nice tight "click" to reinstall

I put about 250 rounds through it, mostly on the un-single (I have never shot an unsingle before). I was off my average by 2-3 birds (shooting 20-23, instead of 23-25) but considering I am trying to transition from a flat rib, 50/50 gun with a 28" barrel I was pretty happy.

Time will tell.
It will take some getting use to but over all I am very happy with it.

After about 40 years away from the trap line, I had a chance to shoot in a benefit tournament and didn't own a shotgun worth taking out so I purchased a used Tristar Setter off of Gun Broker. I was able to get in a few practice rounds shooting around the league guys before the tourney and ended up shooting an 89. The hook was set and I was back into the trap shooting sport after all of those years but it ended up killing my neck shooting a non-adjustable comb/flat shooting gun so I started getting some of the forums and found this one.

2 weeks later I received my TT-15 Combo Trap and off to the pattern board. Mine seems to shoot 70/30 at the lowest settings possible, rib up and comb down and shifted left. Yep, I shoot LH and was concerned when it was listed with the palm swell but at 6'3" and pretty lanky, it actually is no problem and having longer fingers, they don't cramp holding it.

After about 400 rounds and the only issue was a shell stuck and really thinking that it was a lubrication issue with the ejector, I can't find anything bad to say about it, not that I was looking for negative. I am shooting with a lot of guys that are using the higher end "K"s and "P"s and not hearing anything but good comments.

Time will tell but I am more than pleased with it so far. Now to get my numbers closer to 25 on an average and I will be very happy. For just a little north of $1500 from GaG, it wouldn't have hurt my feelings if it stayed in the safe if I didn't like it.

Ok I'm going to resurrect an old thread.... hang on tight.

Those that OWN and shoot their TT-15's. How is it holding up? Any issues?

I'm looking to upgrade form my 1100 soon. I'm currently shooting about 5000 targets a year.

Just trying to get a flavor for longevity.

I shot a TT-15 a couple months ago at the end of a match and thought it felt pretty good.

However, everyone in my area says stay away from Tristars and by a 'B' gun.

Let me know what you guys think.

Best Regards,

I bought a used TT15 unsingle for $475. it had a few issues but I sent it back to tristar, figuring I might have to pay $150 for some repairs. All I can say is their customer service was top notch. They replaced the barrel, rib, new firing pin which included deburring the firing pin channel and polishing the new firing pin, tuned barrel lug and replaced ejector. The best part is they turned in around in under 5 days. I never thought they would take care of all of that but they did. Kudos to them.

Is it my everyday gun, no, it is really for my son when he wants to shoot trap. But its nice to see a company backs their products like that. With that being said, my buddy has over 30K rounds through his and he has replaced one ejector and 1 firing pin.

It is my impression that some had surface hardening issues?I've seen a couple where the inside of the receiver literally flaked and chipped off. Is that still the case? Or did it only effect a limited number or certain year?
