Which of the Nobelsport primers is closest to a Fed209A in Brisance?

684's are the mildest.

686's are in the middle

688's are the hottest.

I am not saying the 688's are as hot as a 209A, as I don't think they are, but the 688's are the hottest that Noble Sports makes available to the reloader.

Thanks Mark, think those will fit better in to the Federal hulls with the plastic basewad and the brass washed base. They are readily available and I had the Fed 209A primer back out of a few of those hulls.

If you have the Federal hulls with the star on the base, it is likely the older RIO contract hulls, and will need a euro sized primer. Many of the brass washed plastic inner basewad Federal hulls now being made are US sized primers, and I don't think you will find the star on the base.

Yes those newer ones are the ones I had primers backing out of with my waterfowl loads I can't stand seeing those beautiful old GM hulls getting tossed out into the water and mud!!!!

No problems with the wound basewad on TG hulls. Primer stays put and I don't feel so bad about them getting launched!
