I'm hoping folks here can point me in the right direction. I'd like to buy a new (or recently new) case-colored over/under shotgun. So far, I've only found that Caesar Guerini and Rizzini currently make one. I'm wondering if folks here might point me to other manufacturers who make one? Or perhaps someone is looking to sell one? Thanks.

The Caesar Guerini is not actually case hardened. It is a chemical coating process. Some early ones had peeling problems.

And that's a good point....Are any of them that are mass produced truly case hardened anymore?

How much do you want to spend? One of our members is currently waiting for his K80 Parcours Special to come back from a complete refinish, including case coloring at Turnbull. He's such a horse trader that if you lay enough case down, you can own that gun.

I had a CG Summit Sporting (Limited maybe).

Beautiful gun, nice deep case coloring, no clear coat issues on mine.

Can you help us help you, by telling us your ballpark budget, and intended use for the gun? Hi volume clays, occasional bird hunts, etc..?

Yes. Sorry...I should be more specific.

Mainly a field gun for pheasants and quail. Leaning towards a 12 gauge since I already have a Beretta 693 in 20 gauge. And I'm hoping to stay under $3000 if possible.

On the cheaper side, maybe a Dickinson Plantation O/U. Their website claims it's a true charcoal-bone case colored receiver.

For the price the Dickinson is pretty solid little gun. For $4k you can get into a Rizzini Round Body field gun with case color that's well done.

I have a Rizzini Omnium with a case colored receiver for sale. It is a 12ga w/28" barrels. Nice looking wood if you are into that. Be glad to send pictures, etc. if you are interested
