Hello soon I will buy a semi-automatic Fabarm L4S shotgun. The fact is that I was looking for a shotgun O/U to hunt but these exceeded my budget so put in talking with my gunsmith he told me he had a semiautomatic shotgun Fabarm brand and model L4S that I left pretty well priced for having some marks (lowercase) on the wood. I would like to know your opinion on this shotgun that has an excellent appearance. I like that it has a magnum chamber, can use cartridges with steel shot, its lightness and good face. I would pray to anyone who has experience with this shotgun that shares its experiences in this thread. Thank you,
Tiguan.

What do you plan to hunt with the gun? Also, which model L4S are you planning to buy?
I hunt rabbits and partridges to jump, that is, walking through the woods with my dog, that's why a light weapon comes in handy. I also hunt the wood pigeon in a fixed position. As for the shotgun model is the basic Black Hunter.

Although now you put me in doubt, I have seen that Black Hunter and the Initial Hunter have the same casing. I did not see the exact model, but since the casing was black I thought it was the Black Hunter. I no longer know what exact model it is.

It's my favorite wild pheasant shotgun.
In Europe, the black receiver 3 inch chambered gun is called the "Black Hunter." In the United States, it is designated as the "Initial Hunter."
I personally prefer the 26 inch barrel and my example weighs 6-3/4 lbs.

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately in the area where I hunt there are no pheasants (hopefully), we have rabbit, hare (little) and partridge and as I pointed doves pigeons. They also authorize us to hunt predators such as foxes and magpies. I do not rule out buying and carrying a 3-inch cartridge (Magnum) loaded with fox shot in case it crosses any.

OK, this is just one man`s opinion and no doubt may be disagreed with by others. The L4S Hunter series are designed as " upland" bird guns. As such, they are quick to point and designed with flushing game birds in mind. They are light, as you know. They will certainly take a passing target like a dove or pigeon, particularly in the hands of a good shot ( I`m average, at best ! ). I personally feel that they are not as good, however, a pass shooting gun as, say, the L4S Sporting may be. A heavier, perhaps slightly muzzle heavy gun, would handle those types of targets better on a more consistent basis. I`m in the process of adding weight forward of my L4S IH`s balance point to hopefully help with a more controlled and consistent swing. I`m sort of hoping to create something of a " hybrid " between the Hunter and Sporting models. We`ll see! All told though, I think the Hunters are fine, well made shotguns.

Randy W the other thread got locked, but my question is where on the Fabarm site do they list minimum shell recommendations for each model auto? The FAQ’s says pistons are not interchangeable and tuned for each model. The Gryphon states tuned to run “target” loads. Waterfowler “heavy” loads. Yet I can’t seem to find minimum recommended shot charge and velocity to reliably cycle the action for the various guns.

A stupid question, does this shotgun have a 3-inch chamber? Is that the gunsmith said yes but I did not see it recorded in the canyon. I still do not have the shotgun because, as a member of the security forces of my country, my documentation is processed differently from civilian personnel. That's why I can not check the engraving of the bedroom length. Thanks again.
