I am considering buying a Benelli Ethos 20 GA. I currently have a Beretta A400 EXPLOR in 20GA. Beyond the obvious of a gas gun compared to an inertia gun, is there a significant difference between the two to justify having both. Of course wanting both is always a factor.

NEVER have too many guns! The ethos is a fine gun.

Have owned earlier versions of both (montefeltro, 391). Enjoyed both but they do serve the same purpose.

IMO and just from watching Randy's review, I would say the new Retay 20 gauge is also a contender in this match up. Some nice features included in that company's version of an inertia 20 gauge.

I have looked at the RETAY shotguns. They have a really smooth feel to the action. My hesitation is the lack of extended chokes. I have a FABARM 20 GA OU and had Briley custom make a set of extended chokes that work really well. I hear good things about the RETAY customer service also. One day I might pick up a RETAY.
But for now I am on the fence on whether to buy a Benelli 20 GA.

But for now I am on the fence on whether to buy a Benelli 20 GA. It appears from the following link that Trulock Chokes makes several extended chokes for the 20 gauge Retay including Sporting versions that are extended, knurled head and bright finish. https://trulockchokes.com/?target=choke ... 857%5D=857

Thanks for the information. I also found that Carlson makes chokes for the RETAY shotguns.

I love my Benelli Montefeltro 20. I also love my Ethos 28. But of all of my autos (Benelli, Beretta, Browning), the Monte 20 has the shiniest grip by far. You're gonna love your new Super Sport!!

Thanks, i am becoming more of a fan of 20GA shotguns. I couldn't justify buying an Ethos 20GA when I already have the Beretta A400 EXPLOR. I'm sure it would have been a good choice, but I wanted something a little different. So I went for the Super Sport.
