All, I’m down to these two guns. CSMC RBL 20 vs Beretta 486 Parallelo Thinking 20ga for hunting. Anyone have experience w both? The CSMC makes me happy as it’s American, the Beretta is well...beretta. TIA

I faced this same issue a few years ago. The Beretta was really nice but was not crazy about the wood. CSMC has some nice wood and nice upgrades. So I bought the RBL and have been pleased. Cost between the two guns was similar. Both are good guns.

Nice dilemma to have, two pretty nice guns. I’ve been hunting and shooting clays with my RBL20 for about five years. Lightweight at 6.5 lbs, good trigger, fast pointing. I’ve had good experience with CSMC service but others reportedly haven’t. The Beretta is a Beretta but getting the SxS serviced may be a challenge. I understand Cole’s is the best place for Beretta service but I don’t know if they have experience with the 486. I’d call and ask them before I bought. All these guns need repairs eventually so I’d be sure to get that part figured out.

I have a RBL. If I was doing it again I would buy an AyA or other Spanish gun, possibly Italian. CSM got all of the money I will spend with them in one shot. My RBL went back several times. There are better choices.

I have an rbl 20, which weighs 6.4. I like it, beautiful wood, PG & BT forend. Beautiful Exhibition wood, but it was not well filled before finishing. Engraving is very shallow and generally poorly excuted. mechanically, not issues. I like the Parallelo, and considered adding it. If I get another sxs, more likely will be Rizzini BR 550/552.

I own serial number 353 RBL. Purchased new and hunted hard out West. Light weight, double trigger, beaver tail, with scratches on the stock from hunting. Never had a problem, Your experience may vary.
