If ammo became readily available tomorrow, I wouldn't buy a single flat. I don't need it now. Come mid-summer when my inventory is low, I'll look to buy another 30 flats. Not to hoard, but to shoot. What I won't do is go to Walmart and clean them out of the 5-10 100 round boxes that they get. Speaking of which, I hear from some other shooters that Walmart and some gun stores are starting to get some Winchester promo ammo. Some friends of mine and I get together and buy ammo by the pallet direct from large distributors and split the shipping costs.

I have enough reloading material to weather this storm.

stocking and hoarding are 2 different things.
stocking is forecasting a need.
hoarding is buying just to buy with no intent of using it or sharing it.
communist countries learned to hoard because they knew they couldn't rely on the govt to keep the peoples needs met.
now that control mind set is here in the land of plenty(sadly.) the govt can control the moods and thought processes of the people by cutting off goods whenever they want to.
it is common practice for communists to pinch off goods to make people beg and complain, then let out enough to just please the masses, to make the govt look like the saviours.

I personally stock to forecast a need.
currently, due to low range sales and less interest in shooting, my stock is high. not by design, but by circumstances. people just aren't shooting as much due to this covid crap....and the lust to shoot and buy pistols for HD more than shotguns. so my warehouse is full.
based on my discipline to limit my weekly shooting...im set in all 5 gauges for a lifetime, both reloads and factory. I did sell 1/2 my inventory to friends who needed it back east, but would if I could, buy some flats to cover prizes and range needs. so id say 10-25.

LOL......

Everyone has their own definition of "hoarding" to justify how many flats they keep on hand.

LMAO at all of the "non hoarders" we have here. Lolol.....

I myself would probably buy 10 flats and give 5 to the club for the high school team so that they could practice a bit. Its hard for them having to decide who gets to shoot and how many so that everyone can at least shoot a box at a time to get some practice time in.

I've been hording ammo since the Clinton Administration. Just not target ammo.

I shoot Clay targets 3 days a week. Usually 12+ boxes a week.
5-6 flats a month. But it depends if I "travel" for shoots. I'd buy enough to get me thru the end of October when the Clays Season usually ends. Then start restocking over the winter.

Zero hoarding for me. I shoot only reloads and stocked up on components during the Trump years when everything was plentiful and cheap

Doesn't do much if you shoot major sporting or FITASC

I answered 1-10 as a lot of folks can't get any. We need to help each other stay in the sport.

I don't do any hoarding, correct term would be preparation.

I have plenty for 2021 already. Both factory and components.

I’d buy a few boxes of shells for goose hunting.
I loaded plenty of shells for informal clays, dove and quail hunts.
I have enough steel shot for duck hunting for two seasons at least.

Zero, but only because I’m an avid reloader. I buy shot, primers, and powder almost every chance I get.
