Good Afternoon Everyone, Recently picked up shooting sports in the past year, and have been plagued with pretty terrible cheek bruising. I currently use a Beretta 686 sporting LH, and after a round of sporting clays my cheek is severely bruised and in some cases raw. I am looking for any feedback or tips to correct my poor form and become a better shooter. Any insight or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Go get a lesson from a shooting coach. They should be able to recommend someone where you shoot. It’ll make it a lot more fun to shoot.

Your gun doesn't fit you properly. There are numerous threads on this site that cover the topic.

Sounds like poor mounting which has a lot to do with fit. If you don't know how to mount correctly, you'll never get good fit! BTW, I'm a lefty too and all my guns are fitted ..........

Gun fit as stated by all others is the culprit. Most Italian guns that I have encountered have too much pitch and cause the cheek slap issue. It can be corrected easily with negative pitch spacer between butt and butt pad. Since you are a Southpaw your issues may be more involved than that alone. You need to get this issue stopped immediately or you will develop a gargantuan flinch or head lifting issue. Good luck!
