So what shotgun (or shotguns ) do you hunt with and how many did you go through before you found "The One"? Me personally I've used a little bit of everything. Starting hunting squirrels with my dad when I was 10 with an old H&R .410 since then I've hunted with: Trying to go in order: H&R 410 NEF 20 ga Franchi 48 20 ga Remington Model 11 12 ga Mossberg 500 12 ga Winchester 1400 12 ga Mossberg 835 12 ga Winchester 1400 MK II 12 ga Remington 1100 Magnum 12 ga Remington 870 12ga Mossberg 500 20 ga CZ Bob White 12 ga Remington 11-87 12 ga Browning Citori 12 ga Remington 11-87 12 ga Ithaca 37 12 ga Browning Auto 5 Light Twelve 12 ga Most of these have been sold/traded over the years but I still have the Franchi although I don't use it much anymore, the 11-87 has become my turkey gun, and the Citori and Light 12 are my go to guns for everything else. I think the 37 was the biggest disappointment it kicked like a mule, had safety issues, and despite being a factory fixed full choke, didn't pattern very well. The Bobwhite was another turd and caused me to swear off Turkey made shotguns.

With what I remembered to add to my records the number of shotguns I have gone through encompass several pages of legal paper. The ones I have kind of stopped at are (in order):
Waterfowl: field hunting Ithaca Mag 10 12 ga Browning Gold Hunter 12 ga Beretta 391
Over water 3.5" Browning Citori Hunter
Upland: 16 ga Browning Citori Upland Special 28 ga Browning Cynergy 12 ga Winchester 24 12 ga Beretta 391
Turkey: Browning Gold Hunter
Predators: Browning Gold Hunter Ithaca Mag 10
I don't hunt small game anymore so I don't have a gun I prefer for them.

Started off years ago with a Savage/Stevens 311A 12ga. SxS. Sold that and bought a Win. 1200 Pump in 12ga. Traded that in on a Mossberg 500 12 ga. Then I progressed to a L.H. Rem. 1100 12ga. What I hunt with now are: L.H. Benelli M-1 12ga. and L.H. Rem. 870 Wingmaster for waterfowl. For upland: 16 and 20 gauge Citori Lightning Grade 1's, 16ga. Ithaca 37, 20ga. Ithaca 37, Springfield/Stevens 5100 16ga. SxS, and Laurona 20ga. SxS.

As I only hunt dove and quail now, I use a Browning Gold 20 gauge, Franchi Veloce 28 gauge or a Franchi AL48 28 gauge. Whichever one tickles my fancy on that day. Usually, I don't use the Gold for quail.

It depends....
Waterfowl usually my 12 SBE or my 20 ga M2.
Upland either the 28 ga Milaon or the 20 ga Milano. Sometimes I use the M2 but not as much these days.

At present, a Franchi 20 ga 48AL and Franchi 20 ga 720 camo. Prior to these I hunted with the Benelli Montefeltro, Browning Gold Hunter, Remington 1100, Charles Daly O/U, Mossberg 500, all in 20 ga, and one other Franchi 48AL in 12 ga.

As a kid I had an Ithaca DB feather light 20, Hatted the single trigger and it kicked like a mule. Got rid of that and got a Stevens DB 20 Loved it still have it the kids learned to shoot with it. I Then got a Marlin Goose gun bolt 12, Top notch back then but then steel happened. Now I only use it when I hunt deer in a shotgun only area. Now a 870 supper express 12 -3 1/2" . Love the gun hate the trigger...

Back in the late 70's I had an 1100 that I hunted quail/pheasant with but haven't hunted since. I just bought a new A300 and plan on getting back in the game for duck and possibly goose. Just signed up for a Hunter Ed course(mandatory in my state to get hunting license).

The Bobwhite was another turd and caused me to swear off Turkey made shotguns. So, by your logic, when you had an issue with the 37, you should have also sworn off ALL US-made guns .........There is more than one gun maker in Turkey. Guns made in the town of Huglu are not all made by the same company (similar to all of those gun companies in the Val Trompia region of Italy). So to keep this on topic, I use a S&W Elite Gold SxS and it functions perfectly and has for several years now, as does those used by many friends who also bought these. These are great upland guns weighing about 6#6oz

Most days I pick my sweet sixteen, but if I could add a gun it would be a 20ga. Beretta Silver Pigeon V.

Winchester 1300. I have a nice Benelli, but I shoot well with the winchester. Wish it was a pound lighter.

My experience is limited to preserve hunting for pheasant, chukar and quail. My go to gun is a Citori White Lightning in 20 gauge with 28" barrels. Occasionally I'll switch to a Wingmaster in 28 gauge.

For upland, I pretty much stick with my Browning SBS, straight stock and of course permanently choked (in mine, IC and MOD). Beware the man with one gun. For waterfowl, I've been trying out a new-to-me Winchester O/U choked in MOD and FULL. On really bad wet days, I hate to take a double out at all and have been known to use my 870 Marine Magnum for upland, but that requires the installation of a special magazine plug and, being a lazy guy, I've only done it a few times.
