Picked up a Meridan action, plates and trigger assembly. I am looking for a set of barrels(pref fluid steel not Damascus), forend iron, and forend latch; as well as forend and buttstock wood. If anyone happens to have the parts laying around, it would be much appreciated to get my hands on them! Thanks

In that date/serial number chart, are we supposed to assume that all Aubrey and Meriden single shots were in that same range whether they were hammerless or not?
Also, were "Aubrey" and "Meriden" guns marketed the same way? Or were "Aubrey"-marked guns marketed through S,R&Co., while "Meriden" marked guns marketed through other channels?

A.J. Aubrey was General Manager of Meriden Fire Arms Co., but in a corporate reorganization in 1910 he was replaced by James K. Williams. The Aubrey tradename continued to appear in Sears catalogs along side the Meriden name for several years after his departure.
Another line of much higher grade guns were manufactured called "THE MERIDEN GUN." Production of these guns was apparently quite limited as very few are found today. It is not known if the intended market for these more expensive models may have been Fred Biffar's company or other national dealers.

"The barrels are taper choke bored, by the celebrated Taper system, to insure the strongest long range shooting qualities, the best possible target, the highest possible penetration, and being made in the proper proportion of heft at the butt, the minimum of recoil is obtained."

A friend of mine has a Meriden Fire Arms Co, damascus 32" barrel (stamped D32), 12 gauge, hammer gun, serial #18890. Looks like it was made in 1909 according to a serial number table. He says it's highly engraved and great quality wood. Barrels are choked full and extra full. Says the model is 97 from a stamp, but I can't find any info about that model number. Does anyone have any info? I see various model numbers in the 50s, but nothing as elaborately engraved. Of course, he'd like some idea of the value also, but first I'd like to track down info about that model. Hopefully he's not misreading it, I haven't seen the piece myself.

Help!!! I've got a Model 92 with a T-30 barrels. I've had it for 25 years, it use to sit above the fireplace as a wall hanger til I got told to take it down. I paid $100.00 for it. Now, what's it worth?? She's tight and the barrels look good, would she be able to handle black powder loads?
Thank you for any help!

Gentelmen:
I am in conversation with a seller that has an A. J. Aubrey Model 56 Aubrey up for sale. It Has 32" chain Damascus barrels which have been adjusted in choke. It has some significant problems such as broken through and repaired at the wrist and someone tried to clean it up and blue the receiver so the stock is craps....
All that being said I have several Meriden guns but not in this shape or with chin barrels. I would like to know an average price for this gun and I realize without pics the reply is shakey.
I have tried to contact Peter but the address I had was not good. Any ideas ?
Thanks

IF (a big IF) the barrels are usable, which only an experienced smith with a bore scope and wall thickness gauge can determine, the expense of a proper refinish of the barrels + case color of the action + repair/replacement of the stock will far exceed the value of the gun.

Drew:Thanks for the reply. The barrels have already been attended to and are clear for use. The current owner has been shooting RST's in it with low pressure 2.5" ammo. I realize there would be cost in refurbing the gun. I have never had a set of Damascus barrels cleaned and "restored" so I dont know who or where to start. Can you advise/suggest a really good craftsman for the job. Thanks... Feel free to PM me or email me with your reply if you like.
