Welcome to SGW ! !

Your gun's proof marks seem to indicate it had a black powder proof, then a proof mark for a gun with older proof marks.

The two letters stamped into the left barrel flat might be a maker's mark - but IDK whose.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable then me will be along soon to help you out.

Your shotgun was made by Victor Aramberri, or by his sons if made after Victor passed (maker's ,ark "P.P"). It has the normal Eibar proof house stamps for smokeless shells. I cannot see the year proof code and so cannot help with year made.

Thank you Kyrie, interesting. Does the year proof code has something to do with the 85G K3S mark?

The watertable has some obsolete proof marks. The X within a shield with a knight's helm above is the mark of the Eibar Proof House. The crossed long arms with a superimposed numeral "2" was used as a provisional black powder proof with minimum proof pressure of 8,818 psi, however, later records also list this mark as a smokeless powder proof for single barrel, SxS and self-loading shotguns with a minimum proof pressure of 12,090 psi! The BP above an oval within a shield is the mark for compulsory smokeless powder proof of 12,090 psi. The 850kgs/cm2 is the proof pressure of 12.090 psi. IIRC, sometime around the late 1960's, the standard smokeless proof pressure was increased to 900kgs/cm2 (12.801 psi.).

The bore and choke dimensions in millimeters will be stamped on the underside of the barrels together with barrel weight.

As Kyrie stated, we can't read the date code. The gauge and chamber length stamp does not show well in the photo. The chamber is 70mm/2-3/4' but, the gauge is not clear. Better photos that clearly show the date code and gauge would be helpful.

Some good pix showing the entire gun together with close-ups of the frame top and sides
would allow forum members to better appreciate what you have.

Here are some pictures of the gun. It's a 12 gauge.

What does the year mark should look like?

Nice gun!

The Eibar Proof House date code changed over the years. From 1927 thru 1954, an alphabetic code (A-Z) with three additional characters was used. For reasons unknown to me, CH was used for 1930, LL was used to designate the year 1940 and the letter N with the Spanish tilde over it was used for the year 1943.

Beginning in 1955, an alpha-numeric code was used thru 1998 (A1, B1, etc.). Since 1999, the date code consists of the last two digits of the year of manufacture/proof (1999=99. 2000=00, etc.).

Thank you again. I guess the year proof mark is what we see on this picture just below the P.P. mark.

Looks like a Y with a * above.

Anyone can help me with that? Based on what I found it should be 1953 but can someone confirm?

Thank you
