Welcome to SGW ! ! {hs#

You can resize your pics via using one of the (free) pic-hosting websites (like imgur.com, postimage.org, etc, etc) before posting them here.

Failing that I would suggest dismounting the barrels and provide us with all/any markings anywhere on the metal parts of the gun.

Places to look are:

* Action water table flats
* Barrel flats
* Barrel undersides between the forearm fastener and the locking lug
* Forearm iron
* Top rib

As a general rule, some 16ga guns have modern 2-3/4" chambers, and older guns are likely to have shorter 2-9/16" chambers.

Do not fire 2-3/4" shells in 2-9/16" chambers even though the longer unfired shell will readily fit into the longer chamber, as when the shell's crimp opens on firing, the longer shell's mouth has no room to fully open in the shorter chamber.

The proof marks look like post 1950 GDR. The chamber length and bore should be stamped on the barrel flats:

16/65 = 16ga. bore / 2-9/16" chamber
16/70 = 16ga. bore / 2-3/4" chamber.

We need a better photo of the marks on the frame watertable.

Raimey or Sauerfan should be along soon to give details.

The circled "16", w/o a length designation added indicates a 2-9/16" (65mm ) chamber.

Is there information on the top rib ?

Hello

11/25= passed proof in November 1925, or 1926, can't really make out if it is 25 or 26. Both tubes choked (to some extent). Böhler Stahl on the tubes?

Kind regards
Peter
